About Me

My photo
Hi and Welcome!! First and most important I am a mother to 3 very inspriring (and quite energized) children who remind me each and every day about the beauty that surrounds us all...and they keep me on my toes! When I'm not working at "the day job" I try to fit in some learning and growing time to practice both nature and portrait photography. Ever since I was a young girl, I have loved art of many mediums. My ultimate goal would be to move solely into a day filled by using my creativity - whether that be painting, nature photography or custom portrait photography. Hope you'll follow along!

Thanksgiving, Coming Soon, Matting, Gallery blocks...and more!

It's been a bit since my last post, so much has been going on these days.

First, I'm happy to announce that I have received my matting kits and will be posting the option in the store this weekend.  The mats are simply divine.  Double white and nice thickness to make a great addition on any print order in my shop...this means the 8x10 photographs can now be received ready-to-frame!!

Second, I've been busy busy busy working on some new layers and finished photos containing a magnificent morning dew and some wonderful hydrangea blooms!
"Endless Circles"

"Dreams In Blue"

"Hope"

These are just a small sampling to some new prints coming soon!

Third, I have been searching and researching some new gallery print options.  I just received a sample order I placed earlier this month.  I used a personal photo of my children from a summer trip at the beach.  The photo was printed on block wood, with black sides and coated with lustre scratch resistant coating.  It is phenomenal, I have to order a few more samples, but will definitely be offering these types of gallery displays in the future. They look fabulous displayed in any room!!

On a sidenote, I'm super excited about some upcoming trips in the next 6 months.  We're heading back to St. Louis to visit with my family over the holidays and I cannot wait!  There is wonderful architecture and history around every corner and hopefully lots of beautiful snow - the camera will definitely be in tow :)  I'm also planning a trip to DC in the spring of 2011 to visit with my sister and to photograph the Cherry Blossom Festival.   If all goes well this month, we may even be able to sneak a trip up to Asheville, NC! I would love to see some snow in the mountains..fingers crossed...

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was wonderful!  We had a lovely time visiting with family and enjoying the mild weather outdoors - we even managed a pre-meal hike through the woods, which will be memorable for all of us :)

Rainbows, Treasury, Projects & Friday...oh my!

I could not be any happier that today is Friday!!  It's been a long and very hectic week around here, and there seems to be a pattern developing.  I have accomplished quite a few items from my to-do list, so needless to say I am taking a big sigh of relief.

First:  The Rainbow Series Limited Edition project is FINISHED...yay!  I took my time carefully considering each flower's color options and am pleased with the finished products.  There are also separate papers selected.  The 8x10 and 5x7 sizes will be printed on Premium Plus photo paper (high gloss) which is rated to last many many generations.  The 4x6 size option will be printed on Advanced photo paper (glossy) - which is also rated to last a lifetime.  In addition, the 8x10 and 5x7 sizes can be ordered with or without a thin black border, giving more options for matting.   These photographs are a vision of vibrant rainbow colors - which would look wonderful in many different colored rooms.  They even look great mixed or matched in pairs or trios with a group frame or individual frames!  Please check them out by visiting my shop and let me know what you think:

Second:  I'm also excited about being able to offer double mats for my 8x10 prints - hopefully these will be arriving within the next week and I will update as soon as possible.  These mats are gorgeous and will be offered in conjunction with an 8x10 print purchase - includes backing and protective clear bag for shipping.

Third:  Friday's Treasury:  When Gray met Pink
A collection I put together this morning with beautiful listings of both vintage and handmade items in grays and pinks!  I had a wonderful time exploring brand new shops (again).  Each shop was so unique and extraordinary - hard to pick just 16.
The first 3 items:
Tickle Me Pink 8x8 photograph  shop LaneyButler  - Beautiful colors and so soft!  This shop has some beautiful photographs.

Vintage Bead Strand Necklace Pink Pearls  shop Uncommonvintage - wonderful vintage necklace!  This shop has some wonderful vintage pieces.

Vintage nothing but flowers full swing skirt  shop shopREiNVTAGE - I love this skirt!!  This shop has some amazing vintage pieces as well - check it out!

Lastly:  Being that my project is completed...that means...it's time to start my next challenge.  Hint: this one will involve little to no color :)

Have a great weekend!

Tuesday's Treasury: Just Peachy!

...So here it is Tuesday evening and I'd really hoped to be finished with the Rainbow Series project.  Well I'm actually mostly completed and only need to upload the items to Etsy.  Unfortunately after the day I've had where I just finished work at 7:30 (14.5 hours today)...I'm going to hold off on the New Listings until I've had some much needed rest.  They should all be uploaded and released tomorrow and I can't wait to share!!

...Tuesday's Treasury was... Just Peachy a Gift Guide under 50!  I had lots of fun this morning looking through brand new shops.  I found 16 beautiful items, each from a uniquely different shop!  The first 3 items listed in the treasury are amazing:

Photograph: Just Peachy 8x12 - shop 74LimeLane This photograph is simply phenomenal - I love Orange/Blue combinations - so I was definitely drawn to the Peach/Aqua combo!  Check it out!

Oversize Multi Strand Necklace - shop pinguim The necklace is stunning - the color stands out so well - love it!

Vintage Peach Sorbet Throw Pillow Covers 16x16 - shop TheHomeCentric The pillow covers just stood out above all the rest this morning.  They are so detailed and soft at the same time - Perfect!
**The other 9 'peachy' items are just as marvelous!**  I can't wait until next Tuesday's Treasury picks!

Amidst the chaos today, I did manage to upload new listings for Blank NoteCards and new Photographs!
Set of 4 Blank Note Cards Fine Art Photography

These turned out perfectly - very nice cardstock & good gloss!

Out of the Darkness 8x10 - a close look at a simple white daisy - the vintage feel makes this print stand out!

And 2 new Rose print options:
Exposed Eternity (available in pink or sepia) - a macro look at a detailed rose
A Rose Like No Other (available in pink or purple) - a softened light view of the same beautiful rose

All 3 photographs mentioned above are available in both 5x7 and 8x10 printing options.

...Time for some rest - more to come tomorrow on the Rainbow Series completion 11/17 :) ...

Fantastic(al) Friday...

..It's been a rather hectic week.  I've been super busy with the day job, new projects and even more new inspirational ideas!  I've even created 2 more Etsy treasuries, which has been a joy - I love shopping online, and looking at all the individual shops full of beautifully created items is nothing short of wonderful.

New Etsy Treasuries:
On The Coast (a beautiful collection of all things to remind you of the beach): http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4cdc1fd00a3b6d91d0987d07/on-the-coast?ref=pr_treasury

...I've also been working on The Sunflower Project.  I've been meaning to do this for sometime and am so excited that I finally started.  The initial pictures have turned out so beautifully and I cannot wait to begin to offer these as a Limited Edition Rainbow Collection in my Etsy store!

Sneak Peek: Oranges
The collection is still a work in progress, and I am busy photographing the last remaining flowers this weekend.  I will be offering the collection as single prints and also as a collage of 2 or 4.  Each print will only be made 5 times, and then it will be retired.  To see the project so far, please visit my Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/JenniferLynnPhotos

I have so many new ideas and projects that are in the works, more to come...

The first...

..I am terribly new to the blogging world, please bear with me as I learn a new skill :)

I have recently opened a new shop on Etsy to share my Nature Photography with the world.  I enjoy photography greatly and have always practiced art in many forms (oil painting, acrylic painting, charcoal, water colors, etc).  Photography gives me the chance to freeze, just for a moment, a piece of nature in time forever.  I love bright colors, beautiful flowers and nature's natural contrast.  All of these elements combined make for a beautiful piece of art that can be displayed for a life time.

I'm a bit behind this week - but I will be attempting to post a Tuesday Treasury going forward.  Yesterday I used my print 'Snow White' as inspiration to put together a beautiful collection of Cream, White, some Blue items for both wear and display.  The finished collection is titled "with a hint of Paris" and I do believe all the items listed are stunning in their own way - Etsy contains a beautifully diverse listing of handmade and vintage items, including amazing photography.

This week's Tuesday Treasury can be seen here:  http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4cd9819e36688eef0235e6db/with-a-hint-of-paris?index=0
Please check it out, comment, share - Thank you!

In addition this week - I've also added 9 new listings last night.  These are a combination of photography I've taken in 2010, including beach and flower prints.  In the next 2 weeks, I'll also be adding a listing for a set of Note Cards with some of my favorite "flower" photographs featured in each set of 4.

Please stay tuned - more to come!
Thanks-Jennifer
